Yesterday my husbands grandmother let us know that the nursing home that she is at right now today was hosting a free petting zoo. We decided to go and spend some time with her since the boys and the day off of school. As far a the petting zoo my husband and I kept our expectations low!! Boy were we surprised. I don't know who was hosting this things, but they did a great job! They had some really unique animals there, ones that you typically don't see at something like this. They had chickens, ducks, billy goat, miniature horse, llama, chinchilla, turtles, A SKUNK, bearded dragon, hairless rat? and some sort of goose that was very loud, just to name a few. The boys were able to pick up any animals that they wanted too! It did take a little awhile for them to warm up, but they did and they really had a great time. Their grandma really enjoyed watching them explore and touch all of the animals, which is exactly what she needed. Trent even picked up the bearded dragon and brought it to her so she could touch it too!
After our visit with her we went to our local orchard and picked up our pumpkins for the year, which is always a good time. My little guy walked the furthest into the patch and picked the biggest one he could find. Easton almost fell about 10 times trying to get this pumpkins to the wagon, of course refusing help because he feels he is big enough. They soon had their picks made and were ready to go. So another wonderful day with great weather.
